The Citizen Watch Brand The company was established in 1924. The founding fathers selected the name Citizen so it would be “Close to the Hearts of People Everywhere” and soon after adopted the company’s formal name, Citizen Watch Company. During the last seventy-five years Citizen has expanded its business throughout the world and has achieved recognition as the global brand. The past twenty-five year period has coincided with the company’s dramatic rise to its current position as the world’s largest watchmaker, a distinction Citizen has held every year since 1986. Beyond sheer size, Citizen is also recognized as a worldwide leader in advanced technology. From the world’s slimmest LCD watch to the first voice recognition watch and the world’s first professional dive watch with an electronic depth sensor, Citizen’s record of “world’s firsts” is unmatched. More recently, Citizen has staked out a new position as the leader in Ecologically Friendly timekeeping with its Eco-Drives watches that are light powered. With models ranging from dress models to sports models to professional dive watches, Citizen Eco-Drive runs continuously in any kind of natural or artificial light for a lifetime of use. Fueled by light, it never needs a battery.Eco-Drive Frequently Asked Questions (See the full Citizen Eco-Drive FAQ here)How can you tell if the Eco-Drive watch is getting enough light? In normal use, the watch displays the time and the sweep-second hand moves in one second intervals. A very important feature of Eco-Drive is the Low Charge Warning Mode which as a result of low battery voltage, causes the second hand to jump two seconds at a time (while still keeping correct time). How long will an Eco-Drive watch run after it is fully charged? If your watch is put away where no light is available to it while in a fully charged state, depending on the model, it will run for from 45 days to 5 years. How can the Eco-Drive watch be recharged? Besides sunlight, it can be safely charged by exposing it to a fluorescent desk lamp, with the dial (face) up and within about 8 inches or an incandescent lamp (regular light bulb) no closer than 20 inches. Never use a halogen lamp since the heat generated by it can cause damage to your watch. The most efficient and the quickest is in direct bright sunlight (not windowsill) and never on the dashboard of a car.

Tissot Men’s T-Race Chronograph Carbon Composite Watch #T0114171203100

Tissot Men's T-Race Chronograph Carbon Composite Watch #T0114171203100

About Tissot For more than 150 years, Tissot has embodied the innovation and tradition of Swiss watch-making. Based in the Neuchâtel area of the Jura Mountains, in Le Locle, Switzerland, Charles-Félicien Tissot and his son Charles-Emile created the watch making company Tissot in 1853. Whether in the technology of its movements, in the research for special materials or in the very functions of the watch itself, Tissot’s engineers and watchmakers have developed pioneering timepieces over the years. Some of Tissot’s triumphs over the years include the the Idea 2001 (the world’s first plastic watch) released in 1971, the Rock watch (which set the timepiece’s movement in a stone case made from Swiss Alps granite) in 1985, and the Wood watch from 1988 (with a completely wooden case). Tissot uses the best movements (from ETA SA Manufacture Horlogère Suisse), the highest quality materials (316L steel, 18K gold, titanium) and scratch-proof glasses (sapphire crystal–at least 2500 Vickers). The company has been involved with high profile sports events since 1974 when they sponsored a racing car in the 24 Hours of Le Mans, France. Since then Tissot’s timepieces have been chosen as official timekeepers for world championships in cycling, motorcycling, fencing and ice hockey. And Tissot is currently the the official watch and timekeeper of NASCAR. Tissot timepieces have been worn by a bevy of celebrities over the years–including Grace Kelly, Elvis Presley and Nelson Mandela–and James Stewart’s character L.B. Jefferies wore a Tissot timepiece in Alfred Hitchcock’s “Rear Window.” Today the company is represented in a variety of sporting fields by English soccer star Michael Owen, IndyCar driver Danica Patrick, and MotoGP world champion Nicky Hayden. Today, Tissot is a member of the Swatch Group, the world’s largest watch producer and distributor.

Swatch Men’s Wheeling Chronograph Watch #YCS408G

Swatch Men's Wheeling Chronograph Watch #YCS408G

Style is the name of the game with this Swatch Wheeling men’s chronograph watch, which features a sublime silver-tone aluminum watch case and bracelet band with a soft, satiny finish. The sunray sky blue dial includes three chrono subdials (enabling you to time events down to 1/10 of a second), silver stick markers with luminous tips, small minute indexes, and luminous-tipped black skeleton hands (with seconds hand). It’s accented by a flattened silver bezel with engraved Swatch logos. Other features include precise Swiss quartz movement, date window at 4 o’clock, and water resistance to 30 meters (99 feet)–enabling it to withstand splashes and snowspray, but not suitable for swimming. Swatch Chronograph A Swatch Chrono watch includes a stopwatch mechanism, which makes it possible to measure and record short times. By clicking on the push buttons, the hands of the chronograph (seconds, minutes, hours) can be started, stopped, or reset to zero. About Swatch In the mid 1970s, the Swiss watch industry was in the midst of its worst ever crisis after facing stiff competition from Japanese-made brands. The Swatch brand was launched in 1983 with the original Swatch quartz watch, a slim plastic timepiece with only 51 components that combined top quality with a highly affordable price. Today, after sales of over 200 million watches, the Swatch Group has grown to include brands such as Omega, Longines, Rado, Mido, and Pierre Balmain as well as the original Swatch brand. The name “Swatch” is often misconstrued as a contraction of the words “Swiss Watch,” but Nicolas Hayek, Chairman of the Swatch Group, affirms that the original contraction was “Second Watch.”
